Insights and Interesting Encounters at the IoT & AI Business Development Day 24.9.2025
The IoT and AI Business Development Day, organized by IoT-TICKET, gathered over 150 participants at Tampere’s Sokos Hotel Torni on Wednesday, September 24th 2025, to discuss themes related to improving and developing their company’s operations through real-life examples. The event also showcased a wide range of demos on topics such as AI, IoT, mobile machinery, smart cities, and energy.
The day kicked off energetically with Director of Revenue & Growth Kimmo Karimäki and Product Manager Jukka Niemi from IoT-TICKET, who highlighted the many changes the world is currently facing and the significant business value and economic benefits that a ready-made IoT and AI platform can provide.

Next, Marko Vatanen, the Chief Specialist and CTO at the Finnish cyber security research center JYVSECTEC, went through some of the current typical threat scenarios in his presentation and emphasised that ensuring cybersecurity involves actions on many different levels of the organization.

Enterprise Product Manager Matti Seppä from Schaeffler, a globally operating German industrial company, talked about the challenge of managing devices and infrastructure at scale and how using IoT and AI has revolutionised it.

After use cases and future visions it was time for IoT-TICKET’s Valentina Rubio to give a live demonstration of IoT-TICKET and show how a dashboard with data integrations is made in real-time.


The historic locomotive hall of the Paja Congress Center provided an impressive setting for the event.

After lunch it was time to get another kind of enterprise perspective from the UK. Nikhil Ninan, the Head of Digital of James Fisher’s Energy Division spoke about building the digitalisation of global marine operations.

Antti Huhta, Service Manager at Peab Industri is responsible for production automation in paving and mineral aggreagates operations in Finland. Antti showed an example of the steps needed to go from pilot to a larger IoT service in heavy industry setting.

Next, Business Development Director Marko Lepola from Telia, brought a slightly different perspective to the event, and brought up ways in which the hardware used in building smart industry is evolving and what to look for in the upcoming years.

IoT-TICKET’s Samuli Pohjola showcased an AI demo focused on computer vision.
